  • Overview

    The Sales Auditor will be the key liaison between the stores, operations and accounting team.  He/She will ensure that proper financial procedures are followed at the store and be a partner with all retail stores.  Providing exceptional customer service will also play a key role in this position.


    • Daily reconciliation of cash between stores POS system, merchant statement and bank account. This includes all forms of payment, cash, check, credit card, Citi Finance
    • Discrepancies that are detected researched and resolved with store, operations.
    • Significant discrepancies (cash shortages) without an explanation reported to loss prevention
    • Research and respond to all chargeback inquiries for all credit card tenders and business channels
    • Research issues that occur with daily KWI transactions that impact sales recognition or payment processing
    • Process weekly mail check request from stores. Ensure that mail check requests are processed timely and if received late from stores, notify Operations/Finance
    • Address issues related to gift cards, VIP program activation/deactivation and record monthly entries related to VIP gift card redemptions and gift card accomodations
    • Reconcile gift card, mail check payable and layaway accounts on a monthly basis
    • Assist accounting team with retail, and credit card bank reconciliations as needed
    • Record monthly journal entries for credit card fees and other fees (Telecheck, Citifinance, etc.)
    • Assist in the setup of new stores as it pertains to sales audit (setting up merchant account #, telecheck account, garda pickup etc.)
    • Assist in year-end audit providing auditors with requests as needed.
    • Perform daily leased department store sales reconciliation (Holt Canada, Nordstrom/Saks Canada) ensuring that sales recorded in host store POS matches KWI.
    • Assist with special projects as needed


    • One to three years of accounting experience in retail environment
    • Ability to act as a change agent and drive process improvement
    • Highly organized
    • Maintains the highest standards of accuracy and precision
    • Articulate, with strong verbal, written and presentation communication skills especially with store personnel
    • Collaborative team player with a hands-on approach; a roll-up-the-sleeves mentality
    • A self-starter
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general ledger ERP System (Oracle a plus)
